Call for applications for rent subsidies (2021)

If you are enrolled for the 2020/21 a.y. on a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Single-cycle degree programme, PhD programme, and (non-medical) Specialisation Schools of the University of Padua and you meet the requirements below, you can apply for rent subsidies. You should:

  1. have been issued with a valid ISEE (equivalent economic status indicator) for the Right to Higher Education, without discrepancies and not exceeding € 20,000.00, before the closing date for applications. ISEE corrente or ISEE parificato will also be accepted;
  2. have paid the instalments for the 2020/21 a.y. in full;
  3. have an active academic career and a tenancy agreement in place (for residential building located in a municipality other than the one you reside in) during the 2021 health emergency;
  4. be an off-site student, meaning you reside in a municipality other than the one where the rented building is located, for the period given (i.e. only for the months for which subsidies are requested);
  5. not benefit from any kind of support for the right to education, e.g. any subsidy for housing services also in the form of financial support/scholarships.

Rent subsidies are therefore not compatible with:

  • the 2020/21 regional scholarship awarded as off-site students. If you were given the regional scholarship either as a commuter or an on-site student, and therefore without the amount relating to housing service, you can apply for rent subsidies;
  • any other accommodation-related benefits and reimbursements provided by public or private bodies for the 2021 health emergency period.

You can apply for rent subsidies on-line in your Uniweb personal area (section iniziative) from 30 September to 3 November 2021.

Below is the step-by-step procedure:

  • upload either a copy of the tenancy agreement and its registration (or tenancy takeover/extension/renewal agreement) or a copy of the contract for student halls of residence at the University or religious institutions (registration with the Revenue Agency is not necessary),
  • provide receipts of payment of the monthly rents of which you apply for reimbursement.

You can cancel and re-submit your application at any time before the closing date for applications. You will find the confirmation of the application submission available for printing at the end of the procedure.

The ranking list of eligible students will be published by 29 November 2021
